Coldplay did it again. A new music video, directed & produced by several different people. The set: the streets. The actors: Superman. The supporting actors: colorful chalks. The camera: Just one. Read about the making of this video at Coldplay’s website.
This is one fucking awesome & cool video. Hands down. Even Radiohead’s “House of Cards” video can’t beat this one. That’s a digital work. This is a REAL art work. Simply superb.
Radiohead is at it again! After a huge success with their previous fans remix experimentation for the song “Nude”, they put up another song just aching to be remixed by their fans. 2,252 “Nude” remix was produced the last time and they are expecting this new experiment to either top the last remix or otherwise. There’s a catch though. For the “Nude” remix, Radiohead were giving away the song stems (elements) for free. But that’s not the case for “Reckoner” this time. You gotta pay USD$0.99 (that’s about ~RM3.60) to download “Reckon” song elements from iTunes music store. Backing vocals, bass, drums, guitars, lead vocal & piano/strings tracks are there for you to split up & remix a new tune using your favourite mixing software.
The best part of it is that Radiohead encourages you to upload your remix to their remix site & let the community of Radioheadbangers decide if your remix makes the cut or not. And for just 99 cents, I think it will be money well spent to be able to participate directly in Radiohead’s marketing. I’m not sure what you’ll get for having the best of the best remixes, but Radiohead sure does know how to interact actively (that’s where you get the word, interactively) with their fans using their music. Music & technology is an awesome combo if you know how to mix & stir it well together. Don’t forget to support Radiohead by buying their stuff.
