One Buck Short 1st album launch!

April 29, 2008 @ 9:06 PM 1 Comment

Back in December 2006, I bumped into them, One Buck Short. Since I was Edris’s ever loyal assistant, I got to be close to them, in a different perspective. I was working on my nuGrooveTV project, so I took the chance to document their lives front & back stage.

In 2007, I took up the opportunity to be One Buck Short’s tour manager. I toured with them all around Malaysia and to Macau & China as well. I made it to Hong Kong with Rahul while the rest of the band flew back to KL after the China shows.

One Buck Short & Buyot in China!

From left: Izal, Imran, Mooky, Senthil Raja, yours truly & Rahul. We’re already at Zhuhai, the border district between China & Macau. Eventhough they are actually the same country, but it was a case of Macau being a special administrative region some sort when China took over.

From what I’ve seen & experienced, managing a band is a full time job. You need to live & breathe with the band.

I was unable to give the full commitment the band needed from me, my focus was elsewhere all the time. I purposely hold myself back, waiting, taking one step at the time, at the same time dealing my personal current affairs, until the moment their album was confirmed at the printers. And this time it’s for real. I told myself it’s time to go & be with my love ones. The band doesn’t need me anymore to hustle/hassle/loyar on their album. They know how to take care of themselves. They just needed some help.

Mooky, Rahul, Izal & Imran are truly great people in person. In a short 1 year period, I think I know these boys well… in, side & out.

They will be hosting a launch party of their “Halal & Loving It” album & also the premier of their Jack ‘n’ Jill commercial. Event starts from 3pm - 6pm and it’s on this Friday, 2nd May 2008. Location: LaundryBar, The Curve. Come everyone! Bring everyone!

This time, they are going mainstream. Always remember your roots & it has been an honor & pleasure to have been working with y’all.

Good luck & thank you.

PS: When I met the band for the first time, I was filming their Rock The World 7 performance. I shot, edited & produced their live video. And other videos too.
