“I’m Your Web Geek for Today” or in short, WHYG42DAY, is a new initiative that I’m starting in the name of evagelising good karma. Having been a web designer & developer for almost 11 years, I’ve been challenged over and over again by life, testing my patience & determination, while I hacked my way thru life. That’s how it is, I hacked my way thru life (thanks to @limyh for describing me in that way). I never finished college, which I’m glad & thankful for even after those struggling years. I’ve made enemies along the way. And of course, I’ve made new, exciting and trustworthy friends & colleagues. Somehow, there’s always a balance in the end of the path I’ve tread, it was just only a matter of time and thought for me to take notice of it.
WHYG42DAY is kind of an extension, or what I’d like to put as, a public Web service, derived from that experience that I went through. For a day, I will be your (new) best friend in Web technology & of course, computers in general. For a day, I will volunteer myself in helping, assisting and if there’s time, build something for you in the name of love. Can you feel the love?
It’s like a free session with a web guy who might be able to help you, your website and other stuff as well. He may know something or two, and he’s helpful. It’s something like that. Yes, it is like a charity volunteer programme. It’s kind of like paying it forward to fulfill the technology & knowledge needs of the people who should have received the help, the most.
In this case, I’d like to help the kampung people, orphan houses, charity driven NGOs, cancer funds, these kind of people, to be more technology adept & self sustainable in this digital age.
I prefer to spend time on who needs & require a Web geek, the most. The rule is: you have to be the real deal because I am. And of course, if there’s other Web geeks participating in the programme with me, they will be the real deal. I will make sure of that :)
That’s right. I’m calling for all Web designers, developers and geeks to come and join me in educating & improving the quality of technology life in Malaysia, raising awareness, making the people understand the beauty & simple ideology on collaboration, things we geeks like to do, for a better combed Malaysia.
Come and join me. Come and help me spread this love we have. Share me your opinions, I’d love to hear what you think of this volunteer programme.
Cheers :)
I’m with you :)

I like this idea of geek volunteers. Tell me more about your idea, how I can help. Let’s do something for M’sia ;)
When there is enough people, start a Google/Facebook group.

That’s a very very honourable initiative.
I’m in when and where my service is of value. :)
