After 16 years, they decided to shut it down. Whether the shut down is due to economic reasons or not, Tripod holds sweet memories for me. It was the first place I hosted & built my first website, KJROLLERS. Spending nights FTP-ing files into my Tripod account when the connection was well below 56k. Getting rid those pesky MS Frontpage tags. Ahh, memories. Sweet memories.
Till death do us part, eh? Thanks Tripod, thank you for the memories.
Reminds me of my childhood, eagerly waiting for the next installment of “Back To The Future” movie. And that hover skateboard. Remains the number one item in my “future” toys list.
It’s kind of weird, although a common practice, to read an article written by an American writer for a Malaysian online news site, The Star. Article is good, but it’s kind of out place me thinks. Anyway, I think the subject of the article is pretty interesting. It’s about the word of the year for America in 2008. Now, without any kind of poll or voting results, I hereby declare the word of the year for Malaysia is…
The new year has arrived. Everything passes by like speedy Gonzales on ice. I’d love to recap 2008, but I have that post somewhere in the Drafts section. Plus, I’m still technically occupied with company work.
However, I started the year with a fresh ride. Nope, I didn’t buy a new car. I try my best NOT TO buy a car during these recession times. Instead, I’ve sent my lover, Jade, for an extreme makeover!
Jade is the name of my car :)
With a limited budget (less than 10k) that I have in hand, Jade is going for a full (hopefully, if they manage to find the body parts) body work & engine overhaul. She’ll also be getting a new set disc brakes & a new set of suspension coils & absorbers.
But I can’t have her away for so long. I’m sending her for a body work now, and according to the dude, she’ll be out back on the streets in a month or so. I’m still searching for a workshop that deals with car interior restoration. If you have any recommendations, please leave your message in the comments.
I miss her, I really do. Now, I have to travel from Shah Alam to Phileo Damansara via KTM + LRT + bus combo to get to work. It’s tiring, but I realised that I missed riding the public transportation, as I used to do everyday to college, to meet clients, before I had Jade in my life.
Just to show how much I miss her, I went to search for clips of Jade’s siblings on YouTube. Sigh…
See! She move in waters! In fact, we went thru the water during the last Shah Alam floods.
