Constitution of Rape

Filed under: Me, Myself & Eureka — Mr. Buyot @ 12:32 PM

It’s funny when you listen to conversations of the rakyat when “rape” becomes a subject. Ooh, rakyat is the new black. Mark my words. Anyhow, rape is simply a taboo subject.

But referring to today’s (03/08/08) The Star newspaper, in their weekly pullout, they gave the front page to the rapist. Somehow, they’ve managed to figure out what makes them tick. I find the article funny. Really.

In general, rape is bad thing to do. It’s worse than murder. I hear that prisoners in jail, despise rapist, especially the ones that does it in the family. Even criminals hated rapist. That’s how bad rape is.

But that’s not my point. I just wanted to look at this problem on a different equation. Let’s look at the single constant in the equation:

SEX.

Or more correctly, sexual intercourse. It’s basically an act of two living organisms (in our case, humans) come together and err… how do you say, copulate with each other. It’s an act of love, mostly referred to as love making. Some say it’s just to flush the toilet.

Rape, by definition means,

the unlawful compelling of a woman through physical force or duress to have sexual intercourse

So, one element in the equation is force. It’s a constant variable. So, by definition, rape = sexual intercourse + force. And sexual intercourse = male + female + desire. If you refer sex as love making, put “love” in the equation too. Now, let’s look at the equation again.

To begin, R = Rape. So the beginning equation is:

R = sexual intercourse + force, which also means R  = (male + female + desire) + force.

Now let’s give s = sexual organ/ism. In this case, sexual intercourse involves the combination or the power of 2 sexual organs or organisms. So, sexual intercourse = s2.

Now let’s make x = desire, or any other kind of feelings whenever the act of sex occurs. It can be love, hate, drunk. Whatever. So now, the equation will look like this:

R = s2x + f

whereby, f = force.

Wait a minute, there’s something wrong here. f is an additional variable. Addition.

Which also means that rape becomes a rape if the victim declares it was done by force. In our regular world situation, rape is a rape when the woman declares the sexual intercourse, lawfully, was done by force. Oh, now that’s interesting. This would also mean that a woman has the power, lawfully, to damn a man to hell, literally. How awesome.

This somehow carefully checks the balance of the society itself. By regular society understanding, a man is a raja. The Indian community has strict values when it comes to men. The Malay society does too, especially when it ties up with religion. In a regular marriage, a man can divorce a woman. And the impact of that act, the trauma, is somehow similar to rape. It was lawfully down upon a woman that a woman can be a subject of taboo, like witches, janda gatal & what not. Woman, in the eyes of the society, is practically evil. And men have the power to damn them to hell, literally. You see where I’m going with this?

When I think about the equation I made up, the constitutional law against unlawful or forceful sexual intercourse is simply a check balance for a male dominated world. Brilliant.

When society is able to check itself, that’s when evolution happens.
