BarCamp was definitely a success today. Although I, *cough*, hardly was in any of the sessions (except for mine), it was really good to see a place full of testosterone, sprinkled with a lil bit of pheromones on top, exchanging ideas & most importantly, socialising with each other. And it’s all geeks! Basically…
I’d like to thank the audience, who came for my session & manage to survive listening to me talking & talking & talking about how we can bend the rules of the game in the music industry. It was really super fun & relief being able to share some of my personal experiences in music & the conclusions that I make from my observations. Music is my passion, although I’m unable to play any kind of instrument. But I can sing ;)
I hope that I got my point through. We, can really make a difference.

Guess which browser?
It’s funny though that Facebook is not supporting IE7 and below, since Microsoft is in bed with Facebook. But it does give out a good message to all those who are still ignorant…
UPGRADE YOUR BROWSER!
*cough*
And to those who still wants to build sites using IE as a benchmark: I pray for your poor souls.
Wanna peak at what I’ve been busy with apart from my daily job?

Another R3HAB collaboration. Been busy with R3HAB doing all these shiet. Bling bling.
Now, I need to recover from this badass tsunami going on in my belly.
I hear Facebook is the Web OS.
Woke up in the morning, my 13th or 15th time to the toilet. Can’t remember. Feeling weak & shit, adding to the pain is an injured wrist due to skating, an attempt for a 270 transfer grab on the quarterpipe.
I wish I could wake up in pain & not go to the doctor by myself. It’s hard to drive when you’re having diarrhea & an injured wrist. Petrol station pun jadilah!
I could wake up knowing that there are people around in my home. Right now, it’s just you & me, Joker.
Tuanku Sultan Kedah has bestowed upon Langkawi a new name, “Langkawi Permata Kedah”.
“I hope that the state government will upgrade the facilities at the terminal to international standards as it is the main entrance to the island”
Tuanku, back in 1999 2001, we did try to improve those facilities. In fact, we formed a new subsidiary called “Lada Langkawi Consolidated”, whose sole purpose was to manage these ferry terminals. We created new jobs for the people. We endured tough battles with the Economic Planning Unit in order to make it happen. We wanted to make sure that these facilities in Kuala Kedah, Kuala Perlis & Kuah operated efficiently as what we had done for another port in Langkawi.
We wanted efficiency. But there were some “people” who wanted just money. They wonder & kept asking us, “How is this going to benefit ME?”. And trust me people, these people were not entirely cronies for BN. They were cronies. And that’s why I know cronies are not exclusive only to BN governments.
But what happened? Try asking them. If you ask us, we’ve got a pile of paperwork.

At about 5pm everyday, we, the Kuli Gang, will have our daily news on Malaysian politics. We visit websites like MalaysiaKini, Bernama & others to feed our “addiction”. However, we were greeted differently on Malaysia Today…

Malaysia Today "hacked" homepage
Was Malaysia Today hacked???
Here’s a different screenshot when I accessed the site without “www” prefix. Why? Because the web works both ways :)

Maybe they were upgrading something. But something happened.
Anwar Ibrahim is a great critic. The way he phrases his criticism to the government, if heard properly, is direct & honest. He brings forward the “rakyat” problem, and I must say, he is the best to represent the rakyat because of his ability to speak. The things he says is somehow things that are close to people’s heart. But being a great critic doesn’t make him a great leader.
The last I heard Anwar Ibrahim spoke was about 10 years ago, during the Reformasi era at Masjid Jamek, Chow Kit & Sogo. I can’t compare what I’ve heard & watched today on TV is the same person 10 years ago.
But one thing I can say, there’s something missing from tonight’s debate. What is it?
Hmm… I know what…
FACTS
There was no facts that can help people understand why the problem, is a problem. The debate fails to give a reason for the “rakyat” to do something for themselves, to ease their own burden. The debate fails to paint a picture to make the people understand the underlying reason behind a question, “Why is it like that??”. It’s like watching the Parliment on the news, again.
It’s like watching my 2 nephews (sigh, i miss them…) arguing with each other on which Ultraman is the best-est Ultraman.
And from tonight’s debate, I didn’t see any intelligence in it. They did not bring any facts to support their convictions. I only saw politicians blowing off pollens.
It’s like watching both of them making fun of us on national TV!
Karim Raslan, “Ceritalah” column, The Star, 15th July 2008.
… I asked about his contrarian oil price scheme but his answers delivered with his signature charm didn’t quite persuade me and we moved on…
Straight but unnoticeably stinging. Let’s see how intelligent Anwar Ibrahim really is tonight. Why? Because so far he’s been spreading “sweet pollens” around Malaysia, and to me, nothing that he has said publicly, so far brings any weight or factual arguments. To me, he’s THE DE FACTO “tok guru” of all “Sweet Talk” gurus. Ask Ezam, he might know what I mean. And if you start saying “well, he was a former Minister of Finance before…”, well my friend, in 1998, it was the hard work of professional government staff & executives that saved Malaysia from an economic disaster, not the minister. A minister is just toooo busy being a minister.
Let the fight begin. I have so been waiting for a public debate.
